Privacy Policy

Last updated September 1, 2026

This policy explains what information EnduranceRider ("the app") collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. EnduranceRider is a GPS course-mapping and ride-tracking app for the sport of endurance riding.

Information we collect

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Your name and email address
  • A phone number, if you choose to add one
  • A profile photo, if you choose to add one

If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from that provider rather than collecting a separate password.

Location data

EnduranceRider records precise GPS location while you're actively recording a ride, either as a ride manager mapping out a course or as a rider recording your own progress along one. Location is recorded in the background while your phone is locked so a recording session can keep running, but only while a recording is actively in progress.

Your live location during a ride can optionally be shared with your friends and with the ride's manager. This sharing is off by default and controlled from within the app — you decide who can see it, and you can turn it off at any time.

Recorded GPS tracks are stored so that ride courses and your own ride history remain available to you and to people you've chosen to share them with.

Photos

EnduranceRider requests access to your camera and photo library so you can attach photos to ride announcements or set a profile picture. Photos are only accessed when you choose to add one.

How we use your information

  • To operate your account and the features you use (rides, loops, friends, announcements)
  • To send push notifications you've opted into, such as friend requests, ride manager requests, ride announcements, and reactions
  • To diagnose crashes and errors so we can fix them
  • To display maps

Third-party services we use

EnduranceRider relies on a small number of service providers to operate:

  • Supabase — hosts our database, authentication, and file storage
  • Fly.io — hosts our backend server
  • Mapbox — provides map tiles
  • Sentry — collects crash and error reports to help us fix bugs
  • OneSignal — delivers push notifications

Each of these providers processes data only as needed to provide their service to us, and has its own privacy policy governing how it handles that data.

Data retention and deletion

You can delete your account at any time from the app's profile screen. Deleting your account removes your profile, your recorded rides and loops, and your friend connections. Some information may be retained briefly afterward for backups or fraud prevention before being permanently removed.

Children's privacy

EnduranceRider is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a material way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
